METALLIC SERIES PVDF KYNAR

PREPAINTED FINISHES – PERSPECTRA PLUS SERIES™
“The Perspectra Plus Series™” is the first choice for a wide range of applications in
steel construction systems, architectural panels, commercial sector, institutional
and industrial projects, and agricultural buildings.
“Perspectra Plus Series™” uses state-of-the-art silicone-modified polyester (SPM)
technology and a resin base that provides enhanced hold. This results in greater
resistance to color degradation caused by wear, a better retention of gloss and
maximum scratch resistance.
“Perspectra Plus Series™” is a trademark filed by Baycoat in Canada and the United

States.
(2) PREPAINTED FINISHES – METALLIC SERIES – PVDF – KYNAR 500®
The metallic series allows to design buildings with a metallic finish not available in
the two-layer systems. In addition, it offers a more economical option than natural
materials such as silver and copper.
The paint system uses the patented polyfluoride Vinylidene (PVDF) Kynar 500®
technology. This one consists of a coating of 4 layers of superior quality which holds
up to the UV rays. This system gives the steel extreme resistance to weathering,
mold and abrasion.
Kynar 500® is a trademark registered by Arkema.
(3) PREPAINTED FINISHES – POLYURETHANE SERIES
The Polyurethane series is designed for wall applications (vertical) and roofing
(non- vertical) requirements in terms of aesthetics and performance.
The paint system consists of a primer coat and an overcoat of Polyurethane which,
when combined, provide a resistant and very flexible paint system.
This technology is not recommended when the steel panels are used in hostile
environments where corrosion protection is the key issue.
4 PREPAINTED FINISHES – POLYESTER SERIES
This polyester paint system is designed for indoor applications only.
(5) NATURAL FINISHES
Unpainted Galvanized and Galvalume Plus™ natural finishes feature a silver metallic
shade and give a more traditional look to any building. Note that Galvanized and
Galvalume Plus finishes are not architectural finishes. The color and uniformity of
these finishes may vary over time. These finishes should be used for projects where
performance overrides aesthetics. For any project where aesthetics is an important
factor, it is best to choose a pre-painted finish.

“Galvalume Plus™” is the ultimate choice for any non-painted steel application. It has
a fine spangle and a slightly glossy surface. It offers increased corrosion protection
compared to galvanized steel. It also offers a double protection to cut and exposed
edges: zinc provides galvanic protection and aluminum provides an excellent
barrier to corrosion. To achieve this finish, the steel is coated with an aluminumzinc
alloy applied on both sides of the steel by a hot immersion coating process. A
transparent organic coating is then applied to prevent staining during storage and
handling, which keeps the new looking appearance longer. This organic coating
also allows to profile without any other lubricant. The Galvalume Plus finish meets
the AZM150 (AZ50) or AZM180 (AZ60) designations.
Galvanized natural finish provides excellent corrosion resistance. It is obtained
by continuous dipping of the steel in a zinc alloy. It meets the G90 (Z275)
designation, meaning 90 oz. of zinc at 100 sq. ft. of steel (275 g. of zinc per square
meter of steel).
Galvalume Plus™ is a registered trademark of ArcelorMittal Dofasco.
